When you are doing DIY repair for your car it helps to have a shortlist of the best places to buy auto parts online. I say online because while you can go to local stores, they often have limited variety and higher prices than what you would find online. Of course sometimes you can't wait to repair your car and need a part immediately.
These are some of the best stores for auto parts. PriceLasso supports price tracking on all fo them, so if you are not in a rush you can save by waiting for prices to drop.
Advance Auto is one of the largest retail auto stores, and my choice when I need a part quickly. When I needed a replacement battery, they had the right one in stock, so I could buy it and install the new battery on the same day.
One thing that makes Advance Auto popular is its large network of stores and frequent online discounts. Whether you are doing routine maintenance or tackling a bigger repair, there is a good chance they have what you need.
O'Reilly Auto Parts is a little farther away from me than Advance Auto, but also tends to be a good local store. They have online order and pick up too.
Track O'Reilly Auto Parts prices
AutoZone is the next largest auto parts retailer and tends to have better prices than O'Reilly. AutoZone has a great selection of batteries, brake pads, oil filters, headlights, and ignition components.
I also like how they have a free battery testing service and check engine light scanning.
Amazon has a huge amount of auto parts, and I love their fitment telling you specific parts will fit your exact model and year car.
Walmart is great for auto parts, especially since they are often in a price battle with Amazon. I price tracked snow chains, and got them for $20 cheaper than Amazon.
Home Depot has many automotive tools, garage equipment, batteries, cleaners, air compressors, and maintenance supplies.
eBay is one of the best places to find hard to locate parts both new and used for older cars.
Princess Auto is a great site for Canadian auto parts and has some of the best prices you'll find in Canada.
Amazon and eBay are among the most popular online auto parts stores because they offer te biggest selection and best prices. Amazon typically has better return policies than eBay and faster shipping.
It depends, so definitely price compare, but I often get the best prices from eBay, Amazon, and Walmart.
eBay is often one of the best places to find rare, discontinued, or hard to locate auto parts for older vehicles and specialty projects. I had great luck finding used parts there as well for older cars.
Advance Auto, O'Reilly Auto Parts, and AutoZone are all excellent choices because they carry a big selection of parts, and you can pick it up same day.
